Node.js development services

JavaScript runtime for server-side applications.

What it is

Node.js is WebGrow24's default runtime for server-side code, APIs, and serverless functions. Built on Chrome's V8 engine, Node.js lets us use a single language across the stack, which reduces cognitive overhead and lets our frontend engineers contribute to backend work without switching mental contexts. We use Node.js with Fastify for high-throughput APIs where performance matters, with Hono for edge functions that run close to the user, and with Express when a client team is already familiar with it and we need to hand off quickly. The npm ecosystem is the primary reason we choose Node.js over Go or Python for most web projects: the availability of battle-tested packages for authentication, email delivery, PDF generation, Excel parsing, and payment processing means we ship faster without reinventing wheel-to-wheel adapters. Indian SMB workflows often involve WhatsApp integrations, GST API connections, and logistics webhooks, all of which have Node.js SDKs or REST client libraries that integrate cleanly. The event loop model handles I/O-bound workloads efficiently, which matches the pattern of most SMB web applications: read from database, render template, send response. For CPU-intensive work like image processing or report generation, we offload to a worker thread or a separate Go service rather than blocking the event loop.

Use cases

  • REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Serverless edge functions
  • Webhook handlers for payment and logistics integrations
  • Real-time features via WebSockets
  • File processing pipelines (Excel, PDF, images)
  • Server-side rendering for React and Svelte apps
  • Background job processing with task queues

Integration patterns

Common integrations WebGrow24 connects with Node.js:

  • Fastify (high-performance web framework)
  • Hono (lightweight edge framework)
  • Express.js (familiar middleware framework)
  • Node Fetch (HTTP client)
  • Zod (runtime validation for API inputs)
  • Prisma (type-safe database access)
  • BullMQ (Redis-based job queue)
  • NodeMailer (transactional email)
  • Sharp (image processing)
  • xlsx (Excel parsing and generation)

Frequently asked questions

Why choose Node.js?
JavaScript runtime for server-side applications.
Do you have experience with Node.js?
Yes. We have shipped multiple projects with Node.js. We will share references on the discovery call.
How long does a Node.js project take?
Most projects ship in 30 to 90 days depending on scope. We share a fixed timeline on the discovery call.
