What it is
Dokploy is a self-hosted PaaS that runs on your own infrastructure, giving you the ease of a platform-as-a-service — one-command deployments, automatic SSL certificates, and preview environments — without the vendor lock-in or per-GB bandwidth pricing of cloud PaaS providers. WebGrow24 uses Dokploy as our default production hosting platform because it runs on any VPS or dedicated server, the pricing is predictable in INR rather than metered in USD, and the Docker-native architecture means any image that runs locally runs on Dokploy without modification. Projects deploy from a git push to a configured branch: Dokploy builds the Docker image, runs tests in the build stage, and promotes the image to the target environment on success. Each environment gets its own container network, isolated database, and domain with automatic TLS from Let's Encrypt. The built-in Traefik reverse proxy handles routing, and the dashboard gives clients a clean view of deployment history, resource usage, and logs without needing SSH access. For Indian SMBs, Dokploy on a single well-configured VPS handles most marketing sites and SaaS products comfortably, and the ability to scale horizontally by adding more servers to the cluster means the architecture grows with the business. We avoid Dokploy when the project requires the managed infrastructure of AWS, GCP, or Azure — databases, queues, and storage that scale automatically without configuration — or when the client's IT team requires a commercial support contract.
Use cases
- Production hosting for marketing websites and SaaS products
- Staging environments that mirror production configuration
- Preview deployments for every pull request
- Self-hosted infrastructure for Indian businesses preferring INR billing
- Docker-based applications requiring isolated container networking
- Multi-application portfolios managed from a single dashboard
- Automated TLS certificate management with Let's Encrypt
Integration patterns
Common integrations WebGrow24 connects with Dokploy:
- Docker (container runtime and image management)
- Traefik (reverse proxy and automatic TLS)
- Nginx (alternative reverse proxy for custom configurations)
- PostgreSQL (isolated database containers per deployment)
- Redis (isolated cache containers per deployment)
- GitHub (git-triggered builds via webhook)
- GitLab (alternative git platform with webhook support)
- Let's Encrypt (automatic TLS certificate provisioning)
- Cloudflare (DNS challenge and CDN integration)
